WHAT IS A LOW PH SHAMPOO

Contrary to a cold process soap (with a pH around 9) which is sometimes used as a shampoo, our solid shampoo has a pH between 5 to 6, closer to our skin and hair pH (4 to 5.5).
It has the ability to clean the hair keeping the pH at an optimal level. It creates less negative static electricity on the fiber surface, resulting on a more healthy hair with less frizz.

In order to promote the cleaning properties of the shampoo, we use surfactants from coconut oil, which despite being extracted in the laboratory are not synthetic and aggressive products like other sulfates found in conventional products.

We use only SCI and SLSA because they are the softest sulfates and with the lowest pH, being sufficiently effective in cleaning our hair. These surfactants are 100% biodegradable, without parabens, preservatives or harmful sulfates and are certified for natural cosmetics, allowing the formulation of gentle products, with some foam but not aggressive to our hair and skin.

WHY IS SOLID SHAMPOO MORE SUSTAINABLE

The solid shampoo avoids the use of plastic containers and is more travel friendly, specially using our cork travel box.

It uses less water in their production, making it highly concentrated and equivalent to multiple bottled liquid shampoos, that normally includes around 80% water in their formula.

It also means that you only need to use a small amount every time you wash your hair, so your solid shampoo will last longer. Is normally enough for 3 to 5 months, depending on how many times is used.

HOW TO USE

The shampoo can be used the same way you would use a soap:

1.Wet the shampoo bar
2.Rub it on the hands to make some foam or directly on the hair.
3.Always leave the shampoo on top of a sponge or a soap holder with holes for the water to go through, making sure that it dries well between uses. This step is very important to guarantee the right preservation of the shampoo, if it stays with water it might go bad after a some time.

Finish off with our solid conditioner of spirulina lemon or our solid conditioner of palmarosa.

INGREDIENTS

SCI (sodium cocoyl isethionate), reetha powder, amla powder, water, yellow clay, cetearyl alcohol, SLSA (sodium lauryl sulfoacetate), shea butter, cold pressed avocado oil, natural vitamin E, cosgard, essential oil of lavender.

Reetha powder (also known as soapnut) is an ayurvedic herb that contains natural saponins with cleansing properties. This herb helps to create natural foam and gently remove the grease from the scalp without stripping off its natural oil and the concentration of vitamins found in reetha enhances the hair shine and reduces dryness.

Amla, known as the Indian gooseberry, is rich in antioxidants and vitamin A which promotes hair growth by inhibiting the activity of alpha-5 reductase which is responsible for hair loss.

Yellow clay removes toxins and absorbs excess sebum build-up,  balancing the skin’s sebum levels making it perfect for oily hair, being more gentle than green clay.

Avocado oil is a lightweight oil that doesn’t weigh your hair down or cause build-up. Is rich in oleic acid and monounsaturated fats, making it one of few oils that can really penetrate the hair shaft and moisturize your hair, rather than sitting on top and coating your hair. It’s indicated to use in hair with tendency to be oily. It also contains minerals that can help seal cuticle cells, preventing hair from breaking.
