Extra moisturizing formula with combination of shea butter, castor oil and honey. Infused in calendula flowers, planted by us, making this soap perfect for extra dry or sensitive skin.

The main ingredient is the extra virgin olive oil, extracted from local olive trees that grow all around this area and give the Alentejo its characteristic landscape. To add to the moisturizing characteristics of the olive oil, the organic cold pressed coconut oil provides the cleansing and firming properties and creates a bubbly lather.

Shea butter is a fat extracted from the nut of the African shea tree and is mostly used for its healing, protecting and moisturizing properties. It has a high concentration of linoleic and oleic acids, which provide conditioning properties and produce gentle and mild soaps. It also has a high content of unsaponifiables (additional components that don’t completely convert into soap, fully keeping its properties), which means it’s an excellent skin-loving ingredient in cold process soap.

Castor oil is a luxurious oil extracted from the seeds of the castor oil plant. It has a thick and viscous texture and a slight odor. In cold process soap, it contributes to large bubbles and is known for its cleansing properties. It feels similar to glycerin with a thick and sticky texture acting as a humectant on the skin.

Calendula is widely known for its anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and healing properties, making it an amazing plant to treat rashes, scratches, eczema, psoriasis, chapped skin, insect bites and damaged skin. Natural soap infused with Calendula olive oil is considered to be a very effective herbal remedy for skin problems.

Honey is a natural humectant, which means it absorbs moisture from the air. Humectants are great for the skin, as they can help the skin retain moisture. It also contains antioxidants and natural sugars which can increase the lather of cold process soap.

HOW TO USE

1.Wet the soap bar.
2.Rub the soap in the hands or directly on the body.
3.Always leave the soap on top of a sponge or a soap holder with holes for the water to go through, making sure that it dries well between uses. This is the most important step for the soap to last a longer time. If it doesn’t dry properly, it becomes soft and every time it comes off a lot more quantity than needed.
